Berlin, Altes National Gallerie 2015

We went to Alte National Galerie which was filled with beautiful pictures with lots of places to sit down, which was good after seeing 2 huge museums already.

Information

A collection of 19th century art from the period between the French Revolution and the First World War, from classicism to secessionism. The harmonious relationship between the collection and the museum building is exceptional. Designed under the auspices of Heinrich Strack according to plans by August Stüler, the gallery was built between 1867 and 1876 and now houses one of the most beautiful collections of paintings and sculptures from that century and includes the famous "Two Princesses", a statue depicting Princesses Luise and Friederike.
