Our host took us to Zug to catch the train to Interlaken should take 3 hours cost 30 CHF. There was a road wash out from the big storm the night before so we had to get off the train at Gimwell and take a bus to Menington, about 20 minutes high up in the mountains, very scenic. Then back on the train and to Interlaken Ost on time, very efficient train service.
Our host's daughter picked us up at the train station and took to the apartment, which was nice and large with 2 bedrooms and a nice view. I would recommend this place if you want to stay in Interlaken especially if you have a car.
