Epcot, Florida part 1

It was a beautiful, sunny day and Epcot was not crowded. After enjoying the rides we went through the pavilions. We enjoyed the aquarium at Little Mermaid.

Aruba

 

 

Most of the tours in Aruba involve the beautiful beaches but since we did not want to go to the beach we just walked into town. We visited with another couple for awhile waiting for a parade, which did not show up, so went back to the ship where I enjoyed swimming and being served milk and cookies by the pool.

We did not take a ship tour just talked to another couple waiting for a cab and shared a taxi who took us on a tour of the city and stayed with us. We stopped at fort, drove past new part of city and walked around the walled city. We spent about 2 hours for $15 each. When you exit the ship you go through a really nice little park with birds and iquana. After the tour we used internet for $3 hour.

 

 

Cartegena 

Hot, sultry, filled with the sounds of music and bright with color and tradition, Cartagena de Indias has been an important port on the Caribbean since it was founded in 1533. Gold and silver left the port bound for Europe, pirates looted the city, and a walled fort grew to protect both shipping and the slave trade.

 

 The fortress was begun in 1536. It was significantly expanded in 1657. It was built in a triangular shape on top of the hill, with eight guns and a garrison of 20 soldiers and 4 gunners. Its name was given in honour of Philip IV of Spain.^[1] Another expansion was made to the fortress in 1763 by Antonio de Arévalo.^[
