Danburg Flooring and On Side Restoration Kelowna 2016

June 29, 2016
Unfortunately at the end of Feb. we had a flood with water on most of the floor in the house, after replacing half of the flooring a few months before. We had On Side Restoration come and do emergency clean up and they were prompt, helpful and efficient, packing up, taking up the wet laminate flooring and putting in equipment to dry everything. The crew from On Side are great. We had 3 flooring companies give an estimate to replace the floors and chose Danburg Flooring that were sent by On Side Restoration. Danburg agreed to put vinyl instead of laminate and put the same vinyl tiles that had just been put in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room for no extra charge. An installer came and put the vinyl tiles for the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room with no problem and did a good job.
The installer who came to do the vinyl planks in the living room, dining room, bedroom and den did little preparation, used very little thin set and refused to nail or screw the flooring down before installing the new flooring. At first the floor looked okay but after a few days wrinkles and humps appeared. After a lot of negotiation with On Side and Manager from Danburg they agreed to redo the floor by putting new vinyl over the existing floor. When 3 new installers came they would not just put the vinyl down on top of the other floor because there would be the same problem. After a lot more negotiating where On Side and us would split the cost of a subfloor for $800 each they redid the job. They did a fantastic job they used ring nails and nailed the floor everywhere, they cut out all the high spots and humps from the previous vinyl and leveled with thin set, then put a sub floor down. They leveled the sub floor, put the new vinyl, rolled it and got it perfectly smooth. On Side crew were great at repacking and moving and putting back everything and taking off the baseboards and putting them back. If you are going to use Danburg I would suggest you check out who is actually going to install the floor and how they are going to prepare it.
