On June 14 our host took us to the Interlaken Ost station and we took the train to Bern about 50 minutes there were only 3 second class cars and they were packed with hikers with all their gear and at the next 2 stations more got on with standing room only. We transferred at Bern and that train was almost empty, that train ride was 2 hours and the total cost from Interlaken to Zurich was 73 CFH. We got off at the airport and took free shuttle to the Holiday Inn Express at the Airport. The hotel was clean, the staff very helpful, is a good location close to trams, includes a nice breakfast. The only problem we had we could not get the air conditioner figured out even after asking, so was not as cool at night as we would like.
We did not do much in Geneva, shopped, took the water taxis with free bus pass that the hotel provided for us. One interesting experience was while I was in a chocolate shop buying some Swiss chocolate bars several ladies and 3 men in suits came in and picked out 4 huge boxes of chocolates and wanted more that they were getting from the back, the cost per box was 960 CFH, I think they were from United Emirates. On June 16 we flew to Reykjavik and then Vancouver on Iceland Air. The flight went okay but they do not give you any food and the few things to buy are not very exciting.
